The Mazda B2500 fulfilled all the demands of pick-up customers when the new model appeared four years ago. But times have changed and automobiles with them. To adress new customer needs, the Mazda B2500 has undergone some significant changes, including an additional new body style called Freestyle Cab. This version is a Stretch Cab with no B-pillar and a centre-opening door system, which allows for extreme ease of access to the inside of the vehicle, and especially to the back seats.

Judging by the results, they’ve managed that perfectly, and we think the looks are spot-on. During 2005, a 6-speed automatic became available on the 6-cylinder models, while the 4-cylinder sedan received a 5-speed manually shiftable automatic. Power is directed to the front wheels only in most markets, although full-time all wheel drive models are available in Japan and Europe. Not all configurations are available in all areas - for example, the Mazda6 as released in Australia was a four-cylinder car only, while the last 626 which it replaced was a four or six-cylinder car.

Mazda hope to strengthen their brand image with the release of the special MX-5 MPS roadster. MPS stands for Mazda Performance Series, an upgrade which may be an option on upcoming production MX-5s. The MPS features numerous performance, functional & design enhancements. Mazda turned to it's affiliate Mazda Speed to include racing technology in the MPS line. Mazda Speed is the same company that took the rotary 787B to victory at LeMans in 1991.

The Xedos 9 was a luxury car from Mazda of Europe. Sold between 1993 and 2002, the Xedos 9 was the export version of Mazda's upscale Eunos 800 on the Mazda T platform. The car was to be part of Mazda's upscale Amati marque as the Amati 500 in North America, but the demise of Amati caused the vehicle to be renamed the Mazda Millenia.
